| The Challenge |
| The only thing that is no longer “clear” when is comes to replacing glass is the glass itself. Glass today comes in a myriad of colours, textures and configurations. Over the years coated glass products have come to dominate our building facades and as those facades age many building owners and property managers are faced with the daunting tasks of finding replacements. Daunting because a number of the major producers of coated glass in the 1980's and 1990's have either discontinued operations or been taken over. The result is discontinued product lines making some types of coated glass virtually impossible to match. Another major challenge for owners of aging glass and metal curtain wall facades is product configuration. Many buildings having changed hands a number of times over the years suffer from a knowledge deficit when it comes to the building envelop. Without the exact product specification for an IG unit finding cross over product matches from new manufacturers is often a tedious “trial and error” process. |

We also have an extensive database of glass and IG unit configuration for most of the high-rise commercial buildings in the GTA. We also have close connections to most of the major curtain wall contractors in the GTA allowing us, in many cases, to source original gaskets and other parts required to maintain the performance and look of your building’s facade. |
