Overview:

After years of service calls to repair, replace and refurbish their Frameless glass doors, the property management and owners of 155 Gordon Baker decided to investigate alternate entrance door types. The high traffic use of the center hung pivot doors was just too much for these entrances. And, the look had become dated.

After years of service calls to repair… (property management) decided to investigate alternate entrance door types.

E1 was asked to submit their recommendations on the type of entrance that would 1)reduce service calls and maintain 2) improve energy efficiency in their vestibule areas and 3) would update their look to coincide with the lobby renovation.

Solution:

Quickly E1 realized that the entrance would be perfect for the TORMAX 9500 ALL GLASS automatic sliding doors. The Series TX9500 is an all-glass sliding door entrance system. It creates an appealing design oriented environment that provides open and clear lines of sight. The door system utilizes the Tormax iMotion® direct drive system and 1/2″ thick tempered glass panels. The system is available in clear or dark bronze anodized finish, painted finishes as well as stainless steel or brass clad finish. To match some existing cladding, it was recommended a brush stainless finish would be perfect.

The result is a long service life with lowest total cost of ownership… maintaining a high standard of energy savings

The benefits were many. For one, the TormaxiMotion® Direct Drive has no gears to wear, no leaking oil or grease, no motor commutator, brushes and couplings to replace. The result is a long service life with lowest total cost of ownership.

With both interior and exterior doors converted to automatic sliders, we were then able to time the opening and closing of the doors so that as the interior would open, the exterior would close, maintaining a high standard of energy savings.

Last, but certainly not least, was the look. E1 installed LED light strips on top of glass in the channel to provide an incredible look at night as the light glows through the glass as it shines down. The light strips can be programmed to change colors on its own or simply stay a desired color. Thus the look of the doors created a very modern updated entry.
