What Type of Work We Do:

DOORS: We service all types of commercial doors: Swing, Balanced, Revolving, Sliding and Folding Grill Doors. We also work with the full range of automatic door operators and we are the #1 Canadian Dealer for Tormax Automatics and that segment of our business is growing rapidly – Tormax motors are made in Switzerland and build the most technically advanced operators in the industry.

GLASS: We handle some of the largest pieces of glass, IG units, and lites in the world. We specialize in taking challenging installations that other companies cannot.

METAL: Explore1 also fabricates frames, tracks, and enclosures that our doors and glass reside in. We have assemblers who help fabricate and build these metal structures in our shop using our CNC machinery and other tools.

We have a great team of experienced door technicians with solid skill sets and good work ethic. If you are skilled and/or want to improve your craft by working alongside other skilled people then Explore1 has a lot to offer you.

Who should apply:

  • Proven experience in installing, servicing, and repairing automatic doors and glazing systems.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for interacting with clients and team members.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Door Technicians who are looking for full-time hours, steady work, an opportunity to expand their skill sets, make more money and contribute to a growing company. We want people who have experience with using tools and servicing and installing doors, who feel confident they can evaluate a troubled entrance and determine the best way to fix it in a timely manner.

What type of work you can expect to help with as a Door Tech with Explore1:

  • We primarily service human-access entrances (Mall entrances, commercial entrances, high-end residential), swing, sliding and revolving doors
  • Automatic sliding door installation and repair
  • Revolving Doors service and installation
  • Manual closers (LCNs, Dorma, Jackson, etc)
  • Balanced door refurbishment
  • Storefront installation
  • Planned maintenance programs
  • Door lite repair and replacement

What type of tasks can you expect as a Door Technician with Explore1:

We are looking for people who have experience working with all types of doors and feel comfortable troubleshooting issues and finding lasting solutions.

Your day might include visiting a coffee shop to install an automatic door opener, correcting a dragging manual swing door at an office downtown Toronto, refurbishing a balanced door at a subway station that gets used a few million times a year and needs new bearings, or installing a LCN on an emergency exit to ensure it remains shut when not in use.

Experienced door techs will get their own vehicles they can take home, with all tools supplied.
